Hometown is Downtown for the Holidays! Main Street El Dorado is inviting you to celebrate Christmas traditions and complete your holiday shopping with a series of festive activities throughout the season in El Dorado's award-winning downtown!
"Let's All Open Together" is the tagline to remember in a nod to the holiday shopping season, which has officially kicked off, and a call to shop locally by exploring downtown shops to find great bargains and the perfect gift for everyone on your Christmas list.
For those who are simply looking to soak up the ambiance and energetic cheeriness of the holiday season, downtown El Dorado will transform into a quaint Christmas village, awash in red-and-green lights and other yuletide decorations.
Main Street is teaming up with Murphy USA and the Downtown Business Association to present the Hometown is Downtown El Dorado for the Holidays promotion with coronavirus (COVID-19) health and safety protocols in mind.
DOWNTOWN HOLIDAY LIGHTING CEREMONY
Thursday NOV. 19 AT 5:30PM
LIVE entertainment, the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign Kickoff, FREE cookies, hot chocolate and of course the Red button push to light up our beautiful Union County Courthouse!
This event has limited space for attendees. We will only be able to allow the first 300 people onto Jefferson St for the ceremony. Masks will be required for entry. Entrance to event will be at the intersection of Main/Jefferson St.

Stores will be open regular hours with lots of Holiday Sales.
Santa will be on the Courthouse lawn on Jefferson Street. Pictures will be FREE IF you provide a receipt from a local shop or restaurant dated between Nov 22-28! If you don’t have a receipt, pics will be $5.
Santa and his sleigh will “photobomb” your photos to ensure we are compliant about social distancing. Bring you own cameras or phones to take pictures :)
